Recently, Linked Data, semantic technologies and knowledge graphs have been adopted in various enterprise application scenarios and found their way into a wide range of\u00a0products and services. This has sparked a\u00a0first generation of startups that have successfully demonstrated the business potential of semantic technologies in various fields. To support\u00a0this development, the inaugural Linked Startup workshop held at ISWC 2016 created a platform for the Semantic Web community to share innovative startup ideas, discuss and develop\u00a0business models, and receive feedback and mentoring from successful founders. <\/span><\/p>\n

At this year\u2019s International Semantic Web Conference, we will provide an even larger platform to pitch innovative startup ideas in a new format.\u00a0If you attend\u00a0ISWC 2017 and have an innovative \u201csemantic\u201d business idea – or are already in the process of developing it – don\u2019t miss out on the opportunity to pitch it at the\u00a0business event \u201cSemantics in the Field\u201d<\/a>. This event will showcase innovative applications and solutions and bring together semantic web researchers and\u00a0the business community –\u00a0from\u00a0local entrepreneurs to\u00a0large multi-national enterprises. With\u00a0this new format, you will receive insight into the work of successful companies in the field and be able to pitch your ideas to a diverse\u00a0and highly relevant\u00a0target audience. The event\u00a0will also provide\u00a0ample opportunity for networking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Submission Procedure<\/b><\/p>\n

To pitch your startup idea\u00a0and\u00a0business model, please submit a deck of 3 slides (max.) and a short description of your idea to <\/span>linkedstartup@googlegroups.com<\/span><\/a>. In case you decide to go without slides\/use slides only as a visual backdrop, please also provide a brief written summary of your idea, discussing aspects such as problem, solution, business model, competition, unique technical\u00a0capacity, viability,\u00a0potential social\/environmental\/economic impact,\u00a0etc. If your submission qualifies, you will have 3 minutes to pitch your idea at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n
